Do you need a script from your atr for your dump to hit?

I've been watching videos and saw only one person so far talk about this. Where you find out the correct ATR that matches your card, you contact the company you bought your blanks from on amazon asking for the script of the ATR, they send it and you use it in pyResMan on the card. Is this neccesary or is there any alternatives? Dont hit me on no tele scam
