My existential question is: what is meant by a “clean drop”?

Let’s assume that I’ve found a website, or several websites, where I have plenty of room to work, and oddly enough they also happen to be in the same region where I’m located. However, intuitively, I can’t have those items shipped with my address and literally to my home.

So I assume that the procedure would be to have the items shipped to an address near my town that, by coincidence, is empty, so that on the day of delivery no one will be able to sign for the package.

Or alternatively, to have the supposed items shipped through a forwarding/shipping agency to another region, and then later use the real address, even including my actual personal name.

My question is truly existential and logical.

I mainly wonder which of my two lines of reasoning makes sense, and if neither does, what the real meaning of “clean drop” actually is — or in any case, what your usual way of operating is in these circumstances.
